First things first: calculate the wall opening
Before anything, you will need to calculate the wall opening for your Framelight Dry Fix kit. To
calculate the wall opening area, take the following steps:
- Take the width of the block(190mm) and multiply by the number of glassblocks you need, we will use 6 for this example: 190mm x 6 = 1140mm
- Multiply the width of the spacer joint(14mm) by the number of inserts(5), and add 74mm and then add it to the above number: 14mm x 5 = 70mm + 74mm = 144mm
- The total: (190 x 6) + (14mm x 5 + 74mm) = 1284mm
Note: The Framelight Dry Fix Kit page will automatically calculate the correct opening size for you based on your selections.
Maximum Panel Size
2508mm high x 2508mm wide (98-3/4” x 98-3/4”) (12 x 12 blocks)
 Step 1
Cut sections for the outer frame and assemble frame consisting of cill and two sides by using the clip and pin system (fig 1). Temporarily fix head piece leaving sides longer then necessary (position and fixing of clips for intermediate rows can be carried our later).
 Step 2
Place blocks and vertical dividers to form first row (Fig 2).
 Step 3
Insert pins in the centre of the ends of horizontal rails (fig 3). Lay rail in final horizontal position and locate clips and mark position of screws. Put rail to one side and screw fix the clips (fig 4). Clip rail into place (fig 5) (make sure the rail is seated down all the vertical dividers and blocks). Firmly secured
 Step 4
Second and succeeding rows are placed by the same method positioning the clips as you go (Fig 6 & 7).
 Step 5
Position and fix head piece into place and trim off any excess length of side sections.
